Adopting a 3 year old staffie girl
Hello, we have not had a dog for many years, I grew up with English Bulls and always as puppies. I ve had collie crosses as well in the past. we are moving to Ludlow in a couple of months and have agreed to adopt a family members dog. She is very freindly but has spend most of her life cooped up in a bedroom and taken out for little walks on a lead for 10 mins perhaps twice a day. we have 2 17 year old cats so its going to be interesting. Any advice would be great

Welcome from Iza and me Just keep them apart at first and slowly introduce each other, keeping the first few meetings supervised and have lots of patience, good luck. I'm sure other people will have more good advice for you.

Re: Adopting a 3 year old staffie girl
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
I'm sure some lovely long walks will be a bit of a change, if you are unsure of her behaviour around other dogs it would be a very good idea to keep her on a lead at least to begin with. We have found a long training lead to be a very good investment along with a 5 metre long extendable lead, this way she can have a run about and you still have her under your control.
