Spent a few days at this Pub. Great if you're in to Cider but limited choice otherwise. Food was good.
Not 5* but extremely Dog friendly, to the point that they get their own sausage at breakfast

Not sure the site is up at the moment as they are revamping it but here's a pic
Loads of really good walks along the Jurassic coast but be ready to climb some serious hills.

Re: Dorset
Flo, me and my O/H had a very last minute night away on Thursday down to Dorset as we had a couple of things to sort out. I had a quick look on line and found this pub:-
http://www.fishermanshauntdorset.co.uk
It's a very Dog friendly pub with treats on the bar and they are allowed in all parts of the pub except the main dining room, that's really not a problem as there is plenty of good seating to be had along with some tasty food too.
The room we stayed in was very nice, however, they only have a couple of Dog friendly rooms so it may be worth calling for availability before booking as we did, we also got the on line discount too. The manager even gave Flo a bag of fish skin treats which went down extremely well.
We had a couple of really nice beach walks, one at Christchurch and the other on Studland beach, though they might not be dog friendly during the summer months. If the beaches are unavailable there are loads of good walks nearby.
I would imagine this pub gets very busy during the summer as the gardens are really nice but it's also as nice in the quiet winter months next to the log fire.
All in all a great last minute night away

Re: Dorset
Looks gorgeous, Ian. By the sound of it they've got it just right, a few dog friendly rooms but without excluding those who (for some incomprehensible reason) don't want to use a room previously frequented by a dog. I'm assuming the smartest rooms are the dog ones?

Re: Dorset
Not sure Liz, we didn't see any other rooms but it may well have been the best as we were the only ones staying that night

Re: Dorset
More guest houses/pub rooms are dogs friendly nowadays and it's good to know which ones are worth staying in.
