Puppy feeding?
I know people have spoke about this before and brought it up once. But how much should we really be feeding a growing pup and how long before they not a pup.I see on backs different food packets and tins different food proporations and its a little confusing. One person say i feed this much another that.My staff bitch is 8 month but with a good appetite and when i feed her what i got told to be fair it never looks enough. She as half pouch of pedigree puppy pouch which is 100g per pouch and a few biscuits mixed in 2-3 times a day.But this still dont look enough can any one shed any light on what they feed?

Re: Puppy feeding?
Feeding has as much to do with the weight of the pup as it has age. But it's not an exact science unfortunately! Try the manufacturers website for a better guide.

Re: Puppy feeding?
As said the guides are just that. I would probably knock the pedigree food on the head and change to something else. I use nature diet as a wet food which is made up of rice veg and 88% meat or fish. If you do change do it gradually over 2 weeks

Re: Puppy feeding?
I've got to agree that pedigree isn't the best. We only feed dry food and she's doing great. Some people only feed raw. Have a read up on different foods, it can be quite interesting.

Re: Puppy feeding?
Pedigree is a pretty awful food, and due to all of the additives and fillers, will probably go straight through her without leaving many nutrients behind, so you would probably need to feed more. Eating pedigree for dogs is like eating mcdonalds is for humans. I also feed nature diet, it's a second best to a raw diet in my opinion. But all dogs vary due to metabolism/activity level Etc. I never go by guidelines really, I just see how she looks and adjust as needs be.

Re: Puppy feeding?
Rocky has also has Nature Diet food in the past/ when he has been ill and wouldn't eat his regular food. Very good quality food and better than many others out there.

Re: Puppy feeding?
The guide lines are on the nature diet tray, you could mix a bit with the dried if you want to finish it, but you would be best to start another dried food so that you can introduce it gradually and slowly decreasing the pedigree. That way you can be sure of no upset tum and still use it so it hasnt gone to waste. Vin has 1 tray per day of Nature diet.
