Biting and barking and bouncing around.
How does one correct this if
A) you can't catch her
And
B) ignoring her and walking away makes her chase and bite the back of my leg
Scenario is it comes out of nowhere. I was quietly weeding the backyard and she started barking at me, then she starts lunging and bouncing, then she bit my upper arm because I was on my knees and she could reach, then I tell her no and she got more excited so I tried to catch her to give her a time out, and I couldn't coz she is so fast, so I started walking inside intent on locking her outside and she bit my legs. Little bugger. It bloody hurts. This isn't the first time and won't be the last so am after tips to discourage when I can't catch her .

We had this with Gordon just be consistent and when she gets excited you could try giving her a chew or toy, she prob thinks you trying to catch her is a game, I know its a pain but they do eventually grow out of it

Lula always trying to get us to chase her and she knows when we are trying to get her inside is the best time to do it. Lula has a football that she plays with in the back garden plus a couple of huge sticks.
They do grow out of the mouthing stage it just takes time. a few chew toys and balls will keep her interest while you are trying to garden

Re: Biting and barking and bouncing around.
Milo used to do this and still does occasionally - they think it's a great game. The nipping does really hurt so my sympathies to you. Like tracy boo says though, firmly say no immediately & ram a chew in her mouth (not literally) then praise her for playing with that. Don't chase her. I think they're just being really cheeky & playful & seeing how far they can go with you. Don't worry - it'll stop

Re: Biting and barking and bouncing around.
I was actually watching Victoria stillwell the other day, and she said that making them run after you helps them to come back, but I do it if I wanna distract him and I'm out. Or I get down on all fours, and as soon as hes comes back to me I say stop and he slows down and doesn't bite, he hardly bites anymore.
