Pros and cons
Hi
Following my 16 year old going to sleep in March , and much soul searching , we decided to get another Staffy to fill the emptyness. We purchased a gorgeous blue bitch pup in April and she is now 16 weeks old.
We are considering getting another later in the year, possibly a dog. Not to breed though.
Please comment on pros and cons of 2 Staffys
Thanks for your help.

Re: Pros and cons
Hi & welcome to the forum.
I wish I had room for two dogs (and that Dempsey would allow another dog anywhere near his house!).
I think as long as you have the time to train & excercise both dogs, then go for it. But I'd get a dog as you can get problems with two of the same sex.

Re: Pros and cons
As long as you leve a decent ga so you can get in loads of training with the first pup then i would go for it. Leave a gap of about 8/9 months so they still enjoy playing together. And make sure you post lots of cute puppy photos here!

Re: Pros and cons
My boy is 10months old and my female is 12 weeks old, they have been togethor roughly 5weeks now, it was alot of work at first but now they are aware of each other and settled with each other they are glued to each other lol, double trouble!.
Pro's are :- you have two of one of the most gorgeous breed going! lol
Con's are :- Extra poop scooping haha!
I enjoy having the two, but like said above you must have the time to do training, the pup should pick up alot of stuff from your staffy already. Skye picked up to sit for food etc like vinnie, now when i pick up there bowls she sits straight away and stares at me lol.

Re: Pros and cons
I agree with Kelly, con: Double poop
I've always had 2/3 dogs at a time and I love having 2, when im out I know they have each other so arnt lonely, They wear each other out on a walk
Same again the training of the 1st dog is important they're like kids with copying, My female Mazda has always been a mare for shredding toys and so now my male Zero also likes to shred (except his teddy hedgehog thats special to him )
But from a single persons view, my daughters goto bed and I get double the staffie cuddles on the sofa
