He always gets fed after us so between 5.30-6 maybe I should do it at 5 before I've even started cooking, he's asleep now I'm gonna take him out before I go to bed,I'm a really light sleeper so if I wake in the night I'll let him out then as well, he doesn't have a crate as we've just got his bed in the corner of his room.

If it keeps happening I'm gonna have to get a crate and just keep letting him out through the night until he stops it.

Yes try feeding earlier also what do you clean it up with? If you clean it with biological washing powder in warm water it will stop him going in the same place  Smile

As piglet says, he may be associating the place he is pooing as his toilet. You need to mask the smell, but don't use the usual cleaners as he will still be able to smell where he has toileted. You can also buy a cheap spray from wilko's that does the job. Look in the pet accessories section. We used this and it was very good. It doesn't mark the carpet either.

You may also want to try setting your alarm clock to wake up a bit earlier to let him out

I bought the solution stuff from pets at home. And it stopped the smell, but not him stopping,I let him out late last night and there was no poo this morning, yeah I'm gonna let him out when liams alarm goes off for work and then I'll still be able to catch some shut eye.

Do still try the biological powder as it does help from them not going in the spot where they can smell they have been  Smile

at 11 weeks there will be little warning for you or the dog. I can feel your pain having stood in cold wet turds at 4am myself and having to shower and then clean up trod in dog poop at that ungodly hour.

happily for you your only a few weeks of better bowl control and you can then start thinking about feeding times as pup pup will begin to give you some realistic advanced warning before they need to go rather than "mum i need a poop, whoops"

best advice for the moment is 80% split between morning and noon feeds and final 20% evening meal

Maybe set an alarm a couple of times throughout the night to just let him out? Or put some paper down? Bane had newspaper in his area until he could hold it Smile

Hii!! He's actually 19-20 weeks now, I've been considering getting him a crate anyway as he needs somewhere he can go and just lie down and not feel the need to be on me or the sofa all the time. The last two nights there has been no poo whatsoever on the floor which is brilliant Smile
