Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
I agree. Pit bull having less bite pressure than A GSD and not good at biting. Nice to see some real experts who know what they are talking about giving opinions instead of the 'I've read the Sun and know it all' sections.
Cesar Milan said the following (I know he's not everyones' cup of tea) and I can't agree with him more;
'In the ’70s they blamed Dobermans, in the ’80s they blamed German Shepherds, in the ’90s they blamed the Rottweiler. Now they blame the Pit Bull. When will they blame the humans?'

Good read and some very good points. especially the bite force, spitz type dogs have a bite force well in excess of any bully breed accept the mastiff. the problem is the people that are so anti will never be persuaded otherwise and even myself have given up on internet trolls who pop up just to bait people who have sufferd due to BSL. sad little creatures

My sisters collie is an ass....to be frank, he's been spoilt way too much and he thinks he rules the roost, really doesn't like other dogs at all.

Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
Been walking my bull breeds of one kind or another since I was a kid in the late 60s. That's a long time. And over and over, the breed of dog that has gone again (and again) for my bullies... black labs. Scary things.

Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
When I told my sister what type of dog I had, she text my friend who had come with me to buy Nita and told her they are a dangerous dog. My friends Dad said the same thing to my friend too. Thankfully she told me what my sis had said so I sent her a pic of Nita curled up on my friends knee (I had had her 3 hours) with the title 'Is this the dangerous dog you were expecting?'
I will be perfectly honest, I assumed the same thing until I started reading up on them and also happened upon this place. As Roosevelt said 'The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself'.

Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
There's very strong drive to sell things and suggest things based on the image of these dogs too. You get it written on fishing equipment or glue or even in the MMA stuff, they rely in keeping this image alive to advertise their own interests. Staffies are sometimes the victims of the fallout of this bile and some people think it lets their own weaknesses off the hook. As has been recently repeated Blame the deed not the breed.
Funnily enough i seem to have bad luck with chocolate Labs, i knew two creamy Retrievers that were adorable to everyone else (dogs and people) but absolutely loathed eachother.

Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
I get completely fed up of people's so called knowledge to call these dangerous dogs!!
It has always been my opinion that it's the owners and not the dog that brings out this aggression. If a human kept getting hit over and over again they are bound to snap at some stage and this is the same with dogs.
When I'm out walking, even with my young kids with me people cross the road to avoid me because I have a so called dangerous dog!
It is absolutely crazy.

Re: Eradicate Pit Bulls? Not Labrador Retrievers?
I live in fear of my sister in law's longhaired chiwawa, I can't read his body language at all. He's at least 10 years old and has bitten me a few times because I can't whether he's cross or not. In my defence, I thought he was playbowing...apparently not.
