Anxious Staffy boy
Hi there I have a 3 year old Boy staffy desexed which I got from gumtree, the owner said they had broken up and couldn't have him anymore he is the most beatuful boy and was quite settled until about a month and a half ago when he started jumping the fence, I have noticed it is when he knows I am going out, he can't be by himself as he gets very scared I don't know what to do any ideas, I have tried tying him up but he just breaks loose please help

Do you mean you leave him outside when you go ? Does he live outside?

Back to basics. Try crating him for small periods of time - five minutes - and coming back when he's settled. Then crate for ten minutes. Don't leave him outside. Staffies love a comfy bed, preferably yours.
This is a common problem and you will solve it.
Have you been spending an unusually long period of time with him? If you're suddenly away from him more he will need to adjust.

Re: Anxious Staffy boy
Have you tried taking him for a nice long walk before leaving him so that he will be tired? A radio will help keep him company and an article of your clothing should help calm him as well.

If you don`t already you could take him for a walk first thing in the morning. These would mean he wouldn`t need to go into the garden to do his business. Once you return pop him into the crate with a stuff kong.

Can you heighten your fence? Even adding a bit of trellis could stop him.
