Lovely people!!

Had a really different reaction to Biscuit over the last couple of days.. Possibly due to them seeing her walking with Freddie the little Chihuahua? Perhaps even the way the media is portraying staffies now!

First encounter was with a lady with a big fluffy spitz type dog! I took Biscuit to the side and she sat focusing perfectly, the lady complimented me on how well trained she was and asked a bit about her. I explained about her fear aggression, and her background and the very kind lady kept her distance, but said that she really likes staffies, and offered to walk around the fields with me with both dogs on lead sometime soon to give Biscuit a playmate, and get her used to her dog as we bump into each other quite often. I was so shocked!!

Second encounter was this morning in the woods; Bug was muzzled as there were lots of dogs about, and sadly lots of people walk around the woods like they own them with their dogs running wild, so better to be safe than sorry. A lady with two very cute little Boston Terriers again complimented us on Biscuit focus command, she asked if she would be confident enough to say hello to her dogs and I said no, she totally respected us and stood about a metre or so away, but we stood and chatted about Bug and dogs in general for about 15 minutes, and Bug was brave enough to sit facing the dogs (on my lap!) and just air sniffed and stayed close, the dogs were so calm she didn't react at all!

It's so lovely for people to actually be taking the time to ask about her now, when I first moved here people were so horrible about her. Perhaps this is a sign that the view of them is changing slightly? I really hope so!

Iv noticed this a bit where i stay too.
Dogs i pass regularly with their "my dog is better than urs" owners have started chatting and asking what shes like and saying how nice she is. Because i have to keep her quite close when there is people around as she would love to jump on them and she likes to bark lots i think people assumed she was "bad" but once i explain im training her and trying to keep her as settled as possible they are complimentary.

I hope its a change towards them as its so unfounded. People act like they are the only dogs that have teeth!
