Poorly girl!
Hiya
One of my staffies yday came down with diarreah, she had 2 accidents in the
Kitchen that were formed but soft poop and ever since when she goes to
The toilet it is pretty much gooey yellow and runny! And still the same today! She isnt been sick its just one end
She is in no sign of pain she is eating drinking and her usual crazy self! She was wormed with drontal 5wks ago and has had no change in her diet
When she is out on a walk she js forever taking a munch on grass! (Im now going to have ro start muzzling jer to stop her doing it!)
She is in the vets for 2 but in the mean time does anyone know what this could be? Im Worried sick

Hi and welcome, do pop and say hi when you get chance https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/f7-new-member-introductions
Sorry to hear your girl is poorly, sounds like a bug, hopefully the vets will know. Mine is munching on grass at the moment too, think its fairly normal at this time of year, something to do with the the grass being sweet so I wouldnt worry too much about that, definitely dont muzzle her because of it.
Let us know how you get on at the vets xx

Re: Poorly girl!
Keep her on the lead while out for walks and if any other dogs approach ask the owners to put their dog on the lead, just in case it is something that's contagious. No need to muzzle her, this would just cause confusion, keep her on the lead.
Please let us know how you get on at the vets.

Re: Poorly girl!
Hi all thanks for your replies, i dont want to muzzle her but thought it maybe better to prevent her from eating stuff but il just keep her on a short lead around grass patches.
She was given a health check everything is fine she had a slightly high temp but he put that down to her excitment and warm day.
Shes been put on vet intestinal food and given an injection aswel as some medicane to go in her food.
She came home and went to the toilet still runny but thicker and no longer yellow and gooey!
Im hoping this means the meds are working and she will be ok!

Re: Poorly girl!
Woke up to another accident on the kitchen floor bless her! .. Its normal poop colour still, an a bit thicker but still runny only there was a bit of blood at the end :/ ... Is this from the muscle from straining or could this be a problem
She only started her medicane and intestinal diet last night with her needle at 2, i may just be being paranoid and expecting it to work straight away but shes never had it this bad before!
Shes still fine in herself

Re: Poorly girl!
Was the blood light or dark coloured ?
It may be from straining, give the vet a quick call and ask to speak to one of the nurses, they should be able to help you.
What was the medicane prescribed for ?

Re: Poorly girl!
Yday we had a soft but formed poop but then it was followed by a slightly runny one .. She never went the toilet for a poo again until this morning (no accident in the house during the night like we have had since tuesday) this mornings poo started normal and formes and ended slightly runny, shes not been again since
Im HOPING this means shes starting to recover

Re: Poorly girl!
I wouldnt worry the food the vet have given may just be "bunging" her up so to speak. If she is drinking and lively enough, try not to worry x
