What should I get for walkies?
So at the momment for walkies in using just a standard collar and lead but would like to get something more comfortable for Bella and myself that will help stop her pulling. I need to find something that will teach/help quite quickly as I have health issues which make my muscles weak. So I need to teach her before she gets too big that I wont be able to handle her. Ive been looking at the halti harness and 8 way line. But is there anything else that you would recommend before or other than that? And also getting the right size too, shes 18 weeks tomorrow so what size would you recommend to get for her now? Barring in mind she staff x American bull.
She does relatively well when its just the two of us walking but throw the kids in the mix and shes just too excitable and pulls constantly. Any advice on this would be gratefully recieved :-) x

I moved your topic but not going to be a lot of help as we only use collar and lead, I am sure someone will be on soon with advice Xx

Re: What should I get for walkies?
I use the trixie dog harness with an el perro collar and halti double lead attached to both. I took Biscuit in as an adult and don't think she had ever been walking, so she was on a halti head collar and double lead until she was trained.

Re: What should I get for walkies?
We have the Ezy Dog harness and collar for Rocky who is also a bit of a puller on the lead. We have used both the Canny Collar and Halti with success from both. Below is a good video for Halti training your dog:

Go for a well padded wide collar for comfort and support, same with the harness.

Re: What should I get for walkies?
I only tend to walk Ledger on the collar day to day but if we are going somewhere people busy he has the Julius k9 harness which he doesn't pull on (as we discovered using it for flyball it restricts the expansion of the chest and shortens his stride) we have had no issues though I have heard of dogs backing out of them however just seen in their catalogue that you can get a separate chest plate to prevent this.
