Suki's recent trip to the vet Empty Suki's recent trip to the vet

We had to get Suki a boster shot that is required by law here. She hates the vet. She has no issue going into the building or the exam room but as soon as she is on the exam table she started to growl. I tried to hold her still and decided the floor was a much better option. Even then she was a handful and we ended up needing 3 people to hold her still. I just don't have the stomach to hold her myself so I needed someone to do it for me.

Glad to hear that it isn't just me. She's the first dog I've had that is like this with the vet. Really odd though because she will wag her tail and kiss the vet up until it's time for her to be examined.

Have you tried to let her meet the vet first in the waiting room before she goes into the exam room ? it could be the smell of the room that is making her nervous about it ? Have you tried to distract her with a toy or treats while you are in there ? She may also be picking up on your nerves while you are in there with her.

I tried all of that. It could definately be my nerves though. She seems to be worse when I am there. Odd that as an EMT, lifeguard, and soldier I have no issues with medical procedures, blood, or whatever but with Suki I get stressed.
