Poor Toots

My Toots has started climbing things recently. Have to keep a very close eye on her.
This morning, I took my eye off for a second and she fell off the sofa.
Omg omg, she couldn't put her back leg down.
Panick stricken rush to vet. I though 'a break' 'a torn cruciate'.....
She manipulated the leg and thought nothing broken or ruptured.
X-ray to make sure, and all seemed fine.
Rest and painkillers.
She's very quiet and still not putting her leg down

Hopefully she will feel a bit better in the morning. They are a worry aren't they!

I take it she under anesthetic for the x-ray, this will be why she is so dopey - Moo was terrible for 2 days after hers

Amazingly they did the x-ray without anaesthetic! She is such a laid back little girl.
The vet said she just lay quiet and still!

Thats great! Never heard a vets do that, will ask next time when Moo has the next for the arthritis, would save a lot of heart ache as she doesn't take well to it and is also very laid back.

Definitely worth asking them Janey and does save the heartache

Well she's brighter, but still not putting the leg down at all ,which is a worry.
I thought it would be a bit better after a good nights rest.
If no better by Friday I'll take her back to vet

Feel completely stressed out now.
Vet said bring her back Friday if not better.

Awww poor Toots, have you tried giving the leg a gentle rub down. Do you have an ice pack you could put on it as this will reduce any swelling there may be there.

I've been massaging her leg, but not tried the ice. I'll do that.

No improvement with her leg
Phoned the vet and said to continue the metacam over the weekend and if no improvement they will have to x-ray her again
She's desperately missing her walks

How's Toots been this weekend ?

Must be driving you both crazy not being able to get out and about   

It is driving us crazy Ian...
I'm massively encouraged this morning though, she's putting her leg down!
Only when walking, still carries it when she trots.
She also jumped up at me for the first time since Tuesday.
I'm praying this is a small step (pardon the pun) to recovery.
At least it seems there can't be a break or rupture.

Hopefully you'll be out and about before too long. I remember when Flo had her knee op last year, all she wanted to do was climb and run etc. so hard not to let them do too much too quickly.
