Do I need to seek the vets help yet or not , she was on perina dried puppy food that the rescue centre said she was eating but I brought her home and she just wouldn't touch it , I now have her on canned puppy food please help .

If she is drinking ok then I would keep her off food for a bit, or just a little rice and chicken she may have picked something up as they do. Just keep an eye on her if she is no better tomorrow pop her to the vets xx

I agree with Inez. How long have you had her for? It could be the stress of the change from the shelter to home too coupled with a fast change in the type of food she's getting.

I've had her for one week tomorrow, she was solid this morning . I was thinking it could be the food

It is probably a combination of the change in environment and food. When changing foods you should slowly introduce the new one as to not upset their tummies.
The people we got Bane from told us he was being fed on something that didn't exist so he had to straight swap him and he had an upset tummy for a few days. We started mixing in dry food too to try and help firm up his stools which worked well.
Also has the pup been wormed recently?

Glad she is getting better Smile If her stools don't ever get to a normal consistency then it may just be that that type of food doesn't agree with her. It's a bit of trial and error sometimes Smile

Haven't had such a young pup for about 33 yrs I've always had a rescue dog that's about 8 months old , so it's been a bit of a shock to the system lol but such a joy at the same time as she's so funny , so glad I came across this website where people are happy to help .
