Weird pubs

Today on our walk we got lost but luckily happened upon a pub! So swift half and directions we thought! Well this pub was the weirdest pub I've even been in! We walked in, it was a tiny room with no lights on, pretty much dark inside and a roaring fire!! This bloke sat by the fire told us to shut the door properly behind us as we came in!! Very very strange! It was so hot and dark inside so we got our drinks and directions and sat outside!   

Anyone else got strange pub experiences?

Yep plenty when on hols in the country, same as you really, walked in no one behind the bar, wood burner on - could have helped myself to anything before someone came to serve - I kinda liked it

 

No but they only become weird when I walk in!

The one I drank in for donkeys years was a bit.. Umm funny.
It had two bars, the front one had all the regulars and the back was where passers through went.

I had been drinking in the back bar a while and me and the troop decided to go into the front bar for a change, it was dark smokey and crowded. To a head everyone turned and stared   

After roughing it out for a few years, we were accepted and became a part of a very unique family, weddings funerals and the like we're all great occasions.

Like a light bulb moment, one evening I caught myself turning to the door as someone walked in and realised it wasn't a look of who are you but who was coming through the door that would be the next victim of a piss take... Great times

My favourite bar used to be a fetish club lol,it's like a dungeon and really dark apart from spot lights in the ceiling. Used to go there every weekend when I drank, it's an awesome bar don't get any of the trouble from the chavs that you do in town either because none of them want to associate with the "dirty goths" lol!! Though I brought a few of my other friends in there a few times an they slotted in alright as long as they kept their mouths shut and didn't start anything! Miss that place

There are a few strange ones here but the bar made entirely of ice was the one that stands out the most. I hate the cold though so it was a rare occassion that I go.

We have the smallest pub in Britain in southport which is strange lol!

Did he say ''Stay on the road. Keep clear of the moors''   I find pretendy Irish bars weird i mean what's the point if you are not Irish or in Ireland. Calling it an Irish name and sticking a couple crappy signs up or an old bicycle doesn't make it Irish.
Ah that moan felt good.

I've been in some strange pubs in my time, the weirdest is when the guy stops playing the upright piano as you walk in and everyone in there stops and looks around at you
