Best thing we ever did.
We have had ZEUS for a month now and we absolutely love him. He is such a character and heaps of fun. He's next to me right now as I type this snoring flat on his back on the lounge. He absolutely loves the beach and is learning new things every day I can't believe how smart he is. I hope everyone else's pup is bringing them the same amount of Joy that Zeus is to our family! Cheers.

Re: Best thing we ever did.
I read this somewhere the other day "once you have been owned by a staffy there's no other kind of dog you would want" This is so true. Archie is the best thing that has ever happened to me and my partner

I totally agree with this.
Do other dog owners say the same about other breeds though?

I was speaking to an older lady who'd had several different breeds and now has a rescue stafford and she said none of the other dogs showed love the was her stafford boy does

Re: Best thing we ever did.
There's a Stafford owner who lives near me who is in his 70's & has owned many breeds throughout his life & he told me that the Stafford is the most loyal, trustworthy breed he has owned. As a first time dog owner & Stafford owner myself i dont think i will ever own a different breed. Would love to see some pics of Zeus at the beach or anywhere else!!

We used to say this about the Dogo Argentinos that we owned for about 12 years. Never thought we'd switch breeds but after losing our last Dogo at a young age last november and our daughter being really affected from the loss of her "big brother" in May 2012 who had been with her since birth - we all decided no more dogos for our family and thought no other breed could come close. We had Marquez since late January and all I can say is that they are another special kind of breed and I don't see us ever owning another breed. I sometimes feel that we're betraying the Dogo by falling madly in love with Staffords but I remind myself that they are extra special in their own ways We also see little quirks that remind us of our dogos past in Marquez but there are a whole lot of new things about them that we love

We haven't had the stafford long enough but I can say that our Dogo Argentinos (and if you ask any other dogo owner they would say the same thing) were 100% loyal, trustworthy and protective especially amongst the younger family members. We never had to teach our dogos how to be gentle around our daughter, they just instinctively knew how to behave around them despite their big size. We will miss the dogo but I can see that we will have the same level of loyalty, love and devotion that we've experienced in the past with our staffords
