Strange

Last weekend Flo myself and a few others decided to go for a walk in the country side (OK it was close to the M25 but that is still country side to me    ). On most of our walks there is a Pub enroute just in case we get thirsty and this day was no different.

We were in the Pub garden just chatting, enjoying a beer and looking through the menu with Flo relaxing in the sun ignoring all the other yappy pooches when my friend leant closer and said "That couple over there have just taken a Photo of Flo". I know she looks cute or whatever in her high vis "Deaf" jacket an all but you would have thought that if they found her interesting, then they would have come over and asked about her etc.

I just find it a little irritating that they didn't engage and just took a Photo  

Yeah that is strange, I wouldn't take a photo of someones dog without asking!

Little bit rude I'd say!

To me Moo is like my child, and I if I had kids I wouldn't want people taking photos! (Maybe not everyones opinions but certainly mine!)

But is there not something slightly amusing/flattering about this? Obviously, we all think our own dog is the most handsome, why shouldnt others think so too?

Many times I have observed how people think they can have a sneaky relationship with my dog without even looking at the person (me!) at the other end of the lead.  For all the coos and cluckings they give him, I dont seem to exist. It is a bit irritating in some situations to be treated like a mobile petting zoo. However, they're generally well-meaning, even if their attention can get Douglas a bit hyper (I monitor how it's going). I think a lot of people who dont have dogs would actually like to have dogs. Therefore, sometimes when faced with the 'rugged good looks' of Douglas - for example - they cant help getting out their phones or trying to touch him. I'm sure it's good for their souls, gives a little lift to their day.

I`ve never had someone just take a picture but i`ve had someone ask me if its ok.
I`m a bit of a worry wart so it would of bothered me

Some people are very shy, or they don't want to disturb you.

In my experience, the only people who want to take pictures of Staffies they don't know have fallen love with your dog.

I've had a lot of Italian people ask me if they can take photos: they're all over him like a rash. Also people from South America. No one from Britain as yet.... French people take one look at him and start screeching.

Perhaps if you see them again you can ask them?

I always ask permission before taking a photo of anyones dog, politeness costs nothing

To be honest, I wasn't too bothered at the time as I was in good company but it just got me thinking over the next few days. 

I guess it was a kind of compliment, maybe, but I would have at least spoken to the owner just out of politeness if nothing else.

Anyway, my Flo became very interested in a friend of mine when he took rather too long to eat his lunch...



Needless to say she had to wait until we got home for her dinner  

 

Strange indeed, but I wonder if they didn't want to disturb you? Maybe they wanted to show the pic of lovely Flo to their children/grand children? Maybe there is a deaf child in the family and wanted to show them dogs can be too? Whatever, still an odd way to go about it.

wouldnt read to much into it my mum thinks she can take a picture of who ever she likes without asking i think generally it the times we live in mobile phones etc are with u all the time so people just take a photo without thinking it may offend, your dog must be gorgeous is all i can think that someone wanted a pic of your pooch always be the bigger person ignore them and enjoy your drink!!!

Was more that they were interested but didn't engage and talk to us.. Just seemed odd afterwards. My Flo is a lovely girl I will admit    But guess the vest she had on was more the interest to them.

Maybe they thought the vest was a good idea  

Flo is obviously cool and I would love to see some more pictures.
