What food? Empty What food?

Post by zoe2004 Mon Mar 17 2014, 10:12

Hi everyone

Benson has been tested and has come up with an allergy to alot of foods most worse ones are Beef, Potato and rice!! which are the main things in dog food.

Does anyone elses dog have an allergy to potato and rice? If so what food did u put them on, his also allergic to other things.

I found Orijen doesnt have rice or potato so will try that but does anyone know any other foods that may help?

Thanks

Sorry to hear about his allergies Sad that's rotten. Haven't used any rice, potato or beef free food myself. Hopefully someone will be along who can help, I personally feed raw have you given that any thought? Smile

All the links Saz has given you will help and any other questions you have, just ask. Going raw is a lot more daunting than it sounds and in fact is pretty easy to get the hang of Smile

Sorry I don't really know much about dry foods, we also feed raw and only started about a month and a half ago! It is much easier than it looks as we were pretty scared to start!
I hope you finds something soon Smile Allergies are a pain!

Also, have you ever looked into forthglade? They do grain free options such as chicken & liver, chicken with heart, chicken & tripe, chicken and lamb. Which only include the meat 88% and minerals. Good alternative to raw though not cheap. Used to feed it often in boarding kennels x

Roxie went off of raw food and she is now eating Lukullus which she is doing especially well on.  She absoluately loves it and there is a good selection of different flavours - most of them don't have rice in them.
