Possible Grinding Help
Good morning all
I hope someone can help alleviate my worries. Our Romeo who just turned one seems to occasionally grind his teeth. This has happened about 3/4 times over the last couple of months. It goes like this. He would be his normal hyperactive self jumping running around wagging his tail eating his food then suddenly you could tell instantly there was something wrong and he would say go and lay under the table and won't come out when calling his name or asking if he wants to go for a walk. His body language is like a changed dog from hyper to scared. We noticed when trying to comfort him his mouth would be shut and when you cupped your hand to the left of his back jaw near his ear it feels like his grinding his teeth it doesn't last for long and occasionally you can hear his teeth grind. I've tried to get into his mouth after he comes out and I don't see anything unusual.
I have booked him into the vets this weekend but thought I'd see how this wonderful site might be able to tell me if anyone else has gone through this. Once his out from the table everything is back to normal. Not off his food, chews and bites his toys it's his sudden change of personality that stresses me as its just not our Romeo
Fingers crossed it isn't anything bad
Thanks for reading

Re: Possible Grinding Help
I would definitely get him checked at the Vet. It could be something neurological. Were his parents health tested?

Re: Possible Grinding Help
Moved this to Health Issues for you, not sure what would make him do this, a trip to see the vet would be in order I think

Re: Possible Grinding Help
Grinding teeth can mean all sorts of things, commonly abdominal pain or oral pain. You've said he does it after eating? Does he have any allergies or sensitivities to food?

Re: Possible Grinding Help
Ah okay, must have read that wrong, sorry! I was hoping it might be a pain, but can see that it could be neurological too. I'd ask the vet about partial seizures, just to be sure.
