ref puppy
First topic message reminder :
hi guys and gals, looking for some honest advice please,we have been to see a litter of pups who are about 4/5 weeks old,the owner says its the mothers second litter and as the pups have teeth mother is losing interest in them, the owner has started weaning the pups and giving them weatabix, and the owner has said that as the mother is not interested in the pups we could take the pup at 6 weeks, does this seem right, and secondly what would you feed pup on is weatabix ok.

Re: ref puppy
They get there in the end We always found when Bane got really nippy and crazy it was because he was tired, so we would put him in his bed and in 2 seconds would fall asleep! Where as if we left him with us to try and settle him to sleep he would continue to terrorise our hands

Re: ref puppy
How old is he now? Just checked and Bane was 4.9lb at 7 weeks but he was very underweight. They do pile on the pounds when they get their appetites up

Re: ref puppy
Ah bigger than Bane dog then Once Bane got eating right, he was putting on about 1kg a week! As long as he looks healthy and chunky then I'm sure he's right on track!
