Found out today Zara can swim

Hello everyone. We took Zara to a new place today for a walk. It's place called nine bridges and has a river with banks each side which lots of dog walkers use. Anyway she had lots of off lead time today and really enjoyed it. We met a guy with a chocolate Labrador who asked if Zara would like to play with him. Well they had a fantastic time playing together. The lab called BArney like to keep going in the water and Zara just stood back and watched him  towards the end of the play she followed him down to the water to get a drink and ended up in the water. She had a really quick swim then got back out. I was so proud of her. At least I know she can swim as I wasn't sure if she could or not. Just wanted to share this moment with you.

I defo will next time but I have to admit my heart was in my mouth incase I had to jump in after her and I would have!! It all happened so quick. I tried to get some photos of them them playing but they was too quick for the camera

Yes it is scary Sarah but I think it comes pretty naturally for most dogs   

Aw well done Zara, can imagine your heart was in your mouth when she did it tho Sarah xx

Congratulations.

I will never forget when my first Staffie Buster discovered swimming.

We was walking him off lead on an empty beach on the south coast. The beach had one of thos pools where the approx. 4ft walls keep a pool of sea water behind when the tide goes out.

Buster ran along the beach and jumped the wall and.......Sploosh.

I ran like Usain Bolt to the pool only to find him happily swimming away.

From that day on he loved water and we could not keep him out of Rivers, The Sea, Canals, Puddles anything.

Aww a new play mate and swimming all in one day, fantastic
