Feeding
Hi everyone,
Sasha's eating went back to normal after my last post, I think she was sulking because my hubby had raised his voice at her, and she still hasnt come into season yet shes 9 and half months. The problem is that she has now started to refuse her food again unless it has wainwrites tray food mixed in. She was eating wainwrites dry food completely fine until I bought a 15kg bag. Its the same variety turkey and rice as the small bag, surely it can't taste or smell any different I remember having yhe same problem when she was tiny. Ive stopped giving her treats during the day and she still turns her nose up at it. I dont want to give her the tray food as she really puts on weight quickly when we do. I put the food down if she doesn't eat it I take it up again problem is she looks like shes lost weight already from Saturday when I brought the food xx

Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Remember they'll never starve themselves, so keep persistent Good luck!

Re: Feeding
Sometimes Katy turns her nose up at her wainwrights so I mix in a pilchard & the bowl is cleared in minutes. Mind you I have to mix it really well or she pick out the fish

Re: Feeding
She will eat it with stuff mixed into it but just not on its own. She is a real porker when we fed her the tray food. The puzzling thing is she was eating the same food on its own with nothing mixed in until we bought a 15kg bag of it now she wont touch it, if she doesn't eat it tonight I will put in an egg. She should be starving as we took her over the country park this morning for a run xx

Re: Feeding
I always buy 2 different flavours in the 2kg bags so she doesn't get bored but still have to mix something in occasionally. Mind you I wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day

Re: Feeding
I have always brought 2kg bags and shes always eaten it but thought it would save me time to buy a 15kg bag. I wonder if it does smell different to her though it shouldn't as its the same flavour xx

Re: Feeding
Could try putting a little water in. When Bane went off his dry food a while back, we dampened it and he ate it fine.

Re: Feeding
She definitely is, also very very stubborn . She knows that I wont let her go hungry but im going to stick with it. She's much healthier without the tray food and she wasnt passing much wind either, which is healthier for everyone concerned

I sometimes puts water with banes food too, I put in hot then let it cool for a little bit, it softens the food

Re: Feeding
It is just a case of her being really fussy, I can't believe that the food can be any different just because one is in a bigger bag. Think im gonna have to go back to basics with her and just persevere with taking it up if she doesn't eat it and hope that she gets fed up before I get totally stressed out
