i dont think nakita is normal lol
normally nakita is playful and yes she has nipped, but a firm no and she stops. but sometimes when she plays i try and stroke the back of her head/neck and she goes mental! turns quick and tries to bite like she means it and has even snarled once or twice. but if you pick her up or shes in her bed and try to stroke her head or neck shes fine. when shes playing and i try she backs away too as if to stop me from touching her so im wondering if her siblings used to pin her when they played as she was the smallest. im just worried incase one of the kids try to stroke her when shes bigger and she has a go. also if you get her ball and bang it on the floor she goes mad too lol xxx

Re: i dont think nakita is normal lol
staffy pups do play very rough. you should hear our pups teeth gnashing together sometimes when we are patting him... got scars all over my hand. when Winston is doing his teeth gnashing we always try to put a toy in his mouth.. he is only 9 weeks, but wow those teeth are sharp. Need to be onto them though while they are young so they learn they can't bite the hand that feeds them.. even though they aren't doing it to be nasty.. it is just what they do !

Polly is just coming up on 4 months now and when we first got her at 8 weeks she would be just like you have described Nakita, now she only bites hard when she is having a mad fit (usually between 7 & 8pm) or is very excited and forgets. She still likes to mouth my hand but doesn't mark it anymore. She has bitten my OH and son and made them bleed a few times but they play hard with her so its their own fault. We can trust her to give kisses now and she is excellent with the children she has met so far and the postie has still got all of his fingers despite reaching over the gate to fuss her before delivering post
We also make sure we have got something to put in her mouth to bite on, our other dogs will bite her hard back when she gets a bit too much with them when they are playing, and I am sure that is teaching her more then we are I am anticipating that she will regress once she starts teething though, frozen chews and carrots already in the freezer for when she starts

Usually from about 3 months onwards. By the time they're 6 months-ish they should have all their adult teeth. The puppy teeth are like needles, aren't they?

I'd say if you say no or OUCH it should work, and soon she'll get the hint that she's not allowed to do it. Poppy used to do this at first, and my other dog, JRT Mylo, he nips now and then but I always say OUCH, and both of them know they should stop doing it.

The thing is you try to stroke her when she is playing and no doubt as you have touched her she will associate that with play when you are trying to change to affection. So if I were you I would only try to stroke her when she is not playing and she comes to you calmly for a cuddle
