Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
I'm guessing you are giving him the Pero SBT mix. Which Nature Diet are you feeding?
Are you feeding Shadow a 50/50 mix of wet and dry food in each feed?
If so, I would recommend about 200g ish of dry and half a tub of wet. That's pretty much what I feed Prince.
Also, don't worry about the fur shedding, unless Shadow starts getting bald patches. Prince is loosing quite a bit of fur when he is being stroked. Best thing to do is, go outside and give Shadow some rough stroking against the fur. That way, you help with the malting and it doesn't go all over your house.

Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
Ignore my last post on how much to feed. I read it wrong
150g of Pero mixed with 1/2 a tub of wet is fine.
Nah, I don't use Pero. We only had Prince a couple of weeks, so were feeding him what his previous owners were feeding him. Although I have been using Nature Diet food and have always given 1/2 a tub per feed.
Yea, its just his summer coat. In the colder months, they grow more fur for more insulation and because its now warmer, they don't need the fur and decide to leave it all over our clothes and carpet )

Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
I don't think 22kg is under weight. Prince is 24.5kg, but he is quite well built. It was suggested to bring him down to about 20kg, but Prince looks happy and healthy.
Is there any chance you could measure him and get back to us?

Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
Its easier said than done.
First off, you want him standing up and still.

Also, measure around his chest and around his waist.

Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
Is his hight 21" or is that his length? Just seems a bit tall.
Apart from that, he seems fine. A bit slimmer than Prince, but Shadow is younger.
I wouldn't worry about his weight. He is still young and will slowly fill out. As long as he is fit, happy and looks healthy, you have nothing to worry about.
Just out of curiosity, how often do you walk Shadow and how far? Also, how much running does he do?

Re: CAN ANY1 GIVE ADVICE PLZ
Everything your doing seems to be fine.
Just keep it up and see how he gets on. Only problem is, things don't change instantly. So its sometimes a bit of a waiting game.
Ok, I'm no expert but I do quite a bit of research and stuff.
Oh, 1 thing I have been told. If you can see their ribs quite easily, then feed a bit more. If you can just feel the ribs with slight pressure, then everything is fine.
Main thing. If Shadow looks happy, then you should be happy

It's deffo shedding of fur.
Last night my daughter said "omg mom, Lola's losing her hair"
I said Lauren ya daft sod she's malting and lsoing her winter fur not hair haha.
But it's amazing how much she is losing for a short haired dog. When we play I'm covered

Hahaha count yourself lucky you're not the proud owner of a Newfoundland or anything with Huskie mixed in, in the middle of summer.
Never again I keep telling myself. Never again. STB's are a hair-haters dream come true. They might shed, but remember, like a hangover, it can always be worse.

If you really think he should gain a little weight, try adding some tripe to his food (you can buy it frozen at most of the larger pet shop chains). But take care, it piles on pounds quickly!
