Bed/Sofa allowed?

Hi All,

As much as I can see many people here allowed your be loving dog to be on bed/sofa...we are starting to restrict on bed but still undecided on sofa. (Zeus is getting bigger and sleeping on floor most of time anyway) What thought on allowing your dog on bed/sofa?? Personally I am ok for both as long as he gets off when I ask him to do so...

Ledger has a free rein even at my parents where they won't let their own dog on the sofa but he gives great cuddles. He obviously curls up in my spot on the sofa/bed and that's quite endearing

i think its a personal thing,every one has different views on it,i have always let sash on the sofa and the bed,i love her being close to me   

Both are allowed here I fact we are waiting for our new living room furniture to be delivered and I told OH that if Darcy won't be allowed on it then we're not getting one!!!

Both are allowed here before I got a new sofa I had a bean bag chair which Suzy then claimed as her own and spent most of the time sat on the floor and she also uses my bed which I don't mind as long as she doesn't try and knock me out of it which she used to do think shes learned she can go on it as long as I can lie down too

Same here, Rocky goes on both. When he first came home he wasn't going to be allowed on either but we kind of gave in and he now sleeps on our bed and has cuddles on the sofa.

Alfie is allowed on the sofa but not the bed I was unsure about letting him on the sofa initially but now I love nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa with him! Only time I don't like it is when he runs in from the garden with muddy paws and jumps straight on the sofa.. Xx

All my dogs have been allowed on both sofa and bed and when I got
Harry as a puppy I decided that I would never allow him to do it.

Guess where he sleeps - in my bed of course   

What ever you decide you will find that they have a way of making you
change your mind

Mine dont sleep in bed but are allowed in for a cuddle in the morning. They are allowed on the sofa   

the boys have free rein to go on whatever they want, and they sleep in our bed, which is cosy with a staff and ambull

Bed/sofa allowed? Yes sometimes we are   

Moo is allowed on both, although initially she wasn't either, you soon give in!

Both, but only on the sofa with blankets on, not the other one!

Thistle is only allowed on the sofa, but only if she asks permission first, not allowed in my bed, she farts too much and I would never get her out of it anyway :-)

I said firmly no to both but at 4mths Koda is allowed on an armchair, & hops onto our bed around 4am for an hour of snuggles. Hopeless!!

Banes ain't allowed upstairs, simply because he's only 5 months and I don't want him having accidents upstairs. I tend to get on the floor for cuddles as he kicks you whilst on the sofa until you fall off and he got the seat himself lol

We were the same with yes to sofa and no to bed but after a few months he was allowed up for snugs in the morning

If we lie down banes thinks it's a game so don't think I'd get any snuggles, maybe a few bites on my ears or my hair band pulled out lol

Thank you all! I knew it most of people allowed your dog to be on bed/sofa!! I was thinking about this a lot since we used to allowed him on both but since my hubby spoken to his friend he kind a change his mind. I actually missed Zeus cuddling up next to me on sofa and sleep with me on bed. I told him how I feel and my hubby agreed on Zeus to be allowed only when we invite him. Happy ending!!

I allowed him to be on sofa next to me last night he seems very happy to be back and cuddling up right next to me. How sweet. And what happened this morning when I say good-bye to my hubby he asked me to bring Zeus into bedroom. I think he felt the same way he secretly missed Zeus been on bed with him. Ha-ha!!

Biscuit is allowed on the sofa when invited, but rarely goes upstairs as we're renting and it's cream carpet throughout!! Don't want her to be running upstairs after a walk when she's lagged in mud, so we've trained her not to come upstairs.

Haha typical isn't it! My OH started saying that we can't let Bane up every morning for cuddles and then when he finally has a day off and I get up early, he always wants to have Bane up there

We have Alfie on sofa for cuddles, but wanted upstairs to be dog free, he was used to sleeping downstairs in his old home anyway. We have the kids stairgate back out to stop him, which is a pain at times. How did you train Bis not go up Rachel and does she not go up when you are out or in bed, or cant she get to the stairs at those times?

Snoop used to sleep in the kitchen but we were having work done so he had to come upstairs. I was so worried the first night he jump on my daughter bed and they cuddled each other. I was scared she would roll over in her sleep and hurt him and he would react badly. So i moved him to the other end but he kept going back to the top end. I gave up and quickly realize i was worrying over nothing lol Snoop used to go between my daughter room and mine.

Lula goes on the couch and has been in my bed but we don`t really let her upstairs as she not completely toilet trained yet
