my gorgeous ambassadors

I couldn't be more proud of the furkids today!

We took them to an organised walk in aid of a local shelter - the ad had said all dogs had to be on-lead so that made us feel better already.

Wellll....I don't think these two could've got more compliments if they tried - from their lovely nature to their smiles, the condition they're in and their harnesses - people loved them. They got sneaky kisses off loads of different dogs and made friends with two gorgeous American bulldogs who we walked with for a while. Not once were they over-reactive or hyper in their greetings, they were super calm and so well behaved (umm, except for the blisters on the OH's hands from them pulling Laughing

) We also saw our neighbours with their two beagles who Rox and Vin are friends with, so that was nice. They took quiet a liking to a poodle-type doggy too. What a difference walking with all responsible owners with well-behaved doggits on-lead Cool

We did the 5km walk (just over 3 miles) and it was all through long grassland and past horse show grounds and horsey houses - the mental stimulation was amazing!

The walk ended at the horse stables and I was a bit worried about my two getting over excited, but nope.. Roxy went right up to a stable door and stood up to kiss a horse!! (her first encounter with one!). Vin was too tired and too busy checking out the other doggies to notice the horses. They even walked straight past a chicken Laughing

So they're back home, been wiped down with a wet towel, paws inspected, brushed through with coconut oil and will probably sleep for the new two days Laughing

They were the perfect ambassadors for the breed today and I'm off to get them a gourmet dinner. (PS: there are photos, just waiting for them to upload) x
