Hello From Edinburgh :-)
Hey,
Stumbled across this place, and thought it would be a good place to chat to fellow Staff owners.
Ti Amo, my 4 yr old male staff was actually my first.
Got him in 2009, from Edinburgh Cat & Dog home.
Lovely manners and temper.
I used to keep Bull Terriers, had one or two that were really lovely, however, after one died of cancer, I decided to give a home to a Staff instead.
Anyway..that's me for now.

Re: Hello From Edinburgh :-)
I tried to upload a couple of pics, but it's late, the software here uses a different format, and, well, I will try again on Wed :-)
Thanks for the welcome.
Seems a busy little enclave.
Bullies are great dogs too.
I'd say they were different in this respect.
A Staff will go around a thing, the Bullie goes through it!
Steve
There.
He is in my avatar now

Very true!
I used to watch one of my Bullies do the simplest of tasks and think to myself 'Jesus wept salted tears, how hard can this be!'.

I've said this many times on this forum - Dempsey is now 2 years old, and he still hasn't worked out that our garden gate opens inwards!

Re: Hello From Edinburgh :-)
Thanks for the welcome(s) everyone, appreciate that.
Life is a v strange thing, at times. After I got my dog from the ECDH, I felt that I wanted to give something back. With 15 yrs experience in marketing, not to mention my experience with dogs, I thought they would be able to make some use of those skills (for free). Especially since a fund raiser than I started in 2006 has now raised over £50k for childrenn's charities, in Edinburgh.
Was a bit surprised that they didn't take me up on my offer, as I had some time on my hands, and a lot of ideas that I think they would be benefitted from.
Oh well..
Steve

Hello you and 'Woody'.
What inspired the name?
Woody...Harlson?
Allen?
Woody Woodpecker?
One of those?

It's a good name -
Ooo...has Woody chewed anything he shouldn't, then?

Re: Hello From Edinburgh :-)
you name it Woody has probably chewed it! even non-wood like material like internet connections, leather sofa, blinds, mobile phones, he does like a good old chew. give him rawhide or a bone and put wood anywhere near he will choose the wood. only thing that beats wood is pigs ears!

May grow out of it (I bet, you hope!)?
Ti Amo is not a chewer, but he is 4.
He will chew on toys or things he is 'meant' to, of course.
I had a Bull Terrier who caused blockage by chewing the base of his crate, and swallowing it.
Big op, and £700!
Thankfully I was insured.
And he was okay.

Re: Hello From Edinburgh :-)
fingers & toes crossed he grows out of it! luckily the worst we have had so far is me having to pull 20 inches of rope out of his backside after chewing his rope toy too much!

if picturing it made you wince imagine how actually doing the deed made me feel! rope toys are now limited to a few minutes under constant supervision!
