Mika's red eyes
Had mika out on a huge walk today, at a couple of parks, along the beach and home. Not long into the walk we realised her eyes were pink and we put it down to the wind blowing into her eyes but the longer we were out the redder the whites of her eyes got. We thought it might be her collar too tight but I'm not sure. Anyone had this problem with their staffy? Just a little worrying

I'm not sure, I suppose it could have been the wind, how are they now?

They look like they're back to normal now. Do you have any other ideas?

Re: Mika's red eyes
Not really.
You mentioned the collar, I suppose if she was pulling on the lead and her collar was tight it could have affected them? You could walk on a harness instead.

Yeah she pulls quite hard on the lead. Where's best for a harness? Pet's at home?

It may have been the wind, are you able to carry some water with you and cottonwool pads so you could give them a wipe occasionally ? This may be soothing for her.

Re: Mika's red eyes
Jolleys also stock dog harnesses, would be best to take Mika in and check a few for size and fit. Rocky has an EzyDog one.

Re: Mika's red eyes
Could be wind or allergies. Try a piriton Hun it may help, I use ezydog harness and I've ordered a nice soft fleecy one too

Thanks for taking the time to reply! Jolleys?? I live at the very top of Scotland, only pet shop is pets at home half an hour away lol. Had thought about getting one online but don't want to get the wrong size. Just had her out in the garden after her dinner and she came back in with pink eyes so it surely has to be wind? Hayley you said piriton, just straight up human piriton? Lol

Yes just a regular piriton, make sure you don't use piriteze though different thing.

Re: Mika's red eyes
Well that's a new one to me but I'll get to the chemist and get some. Oh right! Will maybe compare prices, if it's cheaper for me to travel through to pets at home I might do that:)

Re: Mika's red eyes
Aw I think a harness is definitely what's needed. Had her out before bed just in the garden and she came back in with pink eyes so may be the wind too
