vet says Thistle is overweight!
Took Thistle to the vet last night as her Demodex hasn't cleared up, she weighed in at 25kg, I thought she was big, but didn't consider her to be fat, I hate fat dogs, she does have a bit of flesh but to be honest she's still growing into it, she gets at least 2 hours exercise a day, although she hasn't been of lead for 3 weeks due to her season,I guess I'll have to cut down on the training treats. I got the usual lecture about neutering, which I am going to do, was going to wait until her next season. The vet quoted me £165!!!!! it's down to the weight of the dog and the amount of anesthetic, told her I will have to save up, she also said that she probably wouldn't get anymore flare ups of Demodex if I had her neutered.

no I don't, I have a container that I put it in, she has jwb and a tin of sardines, I will give her half a tin of sardines and less kibbles, I stopped the morning feed because she gets a stuffed kong or a cows hoof when I go to work.

yea you doing it right just dont give her less what she normally has
Re: vet says Thistle is overweight!
Thats a difficult one re the neuturing, the vet is right that a season can cause a demodex flair up if a dog is prone to it but it is better to wait until after the 2nd season

You may be able to get some help with the veterinary bills from the PDSA, so long as you are in receipt of certain benefits though so please check the link below:

I'm on a low income, but I'm not eligible for any benefits, so I will save up, I won't be bullied by the vets, I'm a responsible owner and very aware of the plight of the unwanted staffy. Thistle will remain barren
