what are the usual rules?
Hi All,new to the board...what are the usual rules when dogs stay in hotels? Are you allowed to leave them in crate in room or expected to always take them out when you go out?
Thanks,
Lynn

Have you already booked the accommodation ? If so check the hotels website and see what it says about taking your dog with you. If there is no information then try contacting them directly either drop them an email or give them a quick phone call. I have never taken a dog with me into a hotel so don't really know,

Dog-friendly
If it's a dog-friendly hotel there should be no problem leaving them in their crate whilst your out. When me and hubby went away with Bean, it was for our honeymoon and obviously we wanted to do some nice romantic things just the two of us. So when we popped out for a couple of hours we just left him in the crate. The staff were lovely, we warned housekeeping that he was in there but I think the majority of the time they let him out and gave him a big fuss whilst we were out. I guess it depends how dog friendly your hotel is. Obviously it's more stressful for the dog too because it's not home and so it's not an environment they are used to. I think the hotel would be ok with the crate as this would prevent any damage to the room
