Having a pom with a staffy
We have Lola a 9month old staffy, my girlfriend has fallen in love with the idea of getting a pom. Getting Lola was my say. What I'm asking is has any1 got any experience with having the two. I'm afraid Lola will b to strong and hurt the pom. It will b for her birthday present in 3months.

Re: Having a pom with a staffy
I only have the one dog so I'm not an expert but I will say that Axl's best mate is a pug and he's very gentle with him, so I don't think it would be an issue. I do think you would have to watch their play though and make sure your staffie doesn't get over excited with her new mate

I agree with Debs above, they may well get along just fine but you would have to keep an eye on the behaviour of both.
I have never had two dogs together though so couldn't say for definate how they would get on. How does Lola usually get on with other dogs you meet out on walks ?

Lola is very good with the few dogs people allow to approach her. Tail wagging and sniffing. I'd love to get her a friend. Also is a male better than a female as Lola is female?

Re: Having a pom with a staffy
My sister staff Mason was not great with other dogs he was a rescue dog but my sister wanted another dog. They decided to get a shihi tzu puppy who they called Oscar. Mason was really good even when Oscar was being a bit of a bugger.
You would have to be careful and introduce them slowly and keep an eye on them

Re: Having a pom with a staffy
I have 3 dogs a lurcher a bulkita and a staffy, the staffy is only 12 weeks old and a git, they all get on and the bulkita is very soft with the staffy but the staffy does pull and at times bite to hard, wouldn't like to see her with a little dog, of course the play gets stopped when the play gets to rough, Poms can be delicate dogs and arnt really built for rough and tumble even though they love to there bones just aint strong enough, If you staffy is of a laid back nature it should be fine I wouldn't risk it with Eve,

I have rizz an almost 4 yr old staffy,a border collie and 2 very old rickty shelties and rizz is very careful round the old uns and a bit more bolshy with the collie but she puts him in his place and I've found while out he alters his play level to the type of dog he's with i.e insanely rough with 2 huskies but beautifully gentle with a cockerpoo

I have a 15 month old Yorkie and got my staffy baby just over 2 weeks ago.
They adore each other. Hoping this will continue. Can't see a problem if they are properly introduced

Proper into, assess and to be safe a boy/girl combo is safer than boy/boy or girl/girl.
