Our 8 month staffie Ralph limps on front leg
Hi, hope someone can help, we have an 8 month old staffie, Ralph, he has had a random limp sometimes after a walk but it can be after he has been asleep. He can go days without any signs of a limp, we took him to the vet yesterday and had to show a video because he was fine. He is going for X-Rays tomorrow, I personally think if it was something serious it would be there all the time. This has been going on for about 3 weeks, any ideas ?

Hope its nothing serious. Great idea to show the vet a video, they never do these things when you go!

Vinny had this when he was younger and our vet said it was "growing pains." Glad you've been to the vet and we will keep an eye out for the results.

Lisa, a few people have told me it could be growing pains, which does make sense as he does not limp all the time

Vin's limp also used to come and go and it would change between legs. At least you will get the results soon.

Oh bless hope all goes ok at the vets
Knox has a random limp every now and then but it normally come on when he's been running or playing hard. There's just no way of stoping him wanting to run, he's a lunatic lol
Couple of days slow walking normally sorts him out

Re: Our 8 month staffie Ralph limps on front leg
Hi, just got Ralph back from the vets, the x-rays show everything is how it should be but the vet is sending them off to an orthopaedic specialist for a film report, complete rest for the next two weeks to see how he gets on and if there is no improvement he will get sent for a scan. Thankyou for all your kind wishes

Good to hear it's nothing major and hopefully the specialist reports say the same.
Lots of mental stimulation while he's on exercise rest
