we need a new collar
I got the help of an dog behavour specialist as our Tip got too boasterious when meeting new people when she went to the airfield with us. The good news is according to the lady we got the basics correct and it was not such a massive problem as I thought.
She did suggest I change from the normal leatther collar she is wearing as she can slip it. I don't want to use a choke chain. Any suggestions on what I could look for?

Re: we need a new collar
Rocky has an EzyDog collar as in the link below, they do a wider version too. Others go for the El Perro collars which are quite wide too:

Re: we need a new collar
We use the normal Rogz collars but tbf we also use harnesses, so nothing is connected to the collar. Hope Tip is doing well
We sadly don't get Ezydog or El Perro here but I may just order two online some day!

Thanks Katy and Hayley; had a look at the links.
Will pop around to the petshop Lisa and see what they have. Tip is generally her lovable energetic self and we making progress with our training.
When we went to the airfield she got sooo excitable that she kept lunging to greet people AND tried to steal a toddler's worsroll.
We currently looking for socialization and obedience classes for her.
The lady suggested a collar that is half nylon with only a bit of chain so it pulls tight like a choker but don't do the damage of a choke chain.

Try the link below for a half check chain:

Re: we need a new collar
thank you Katy that's the one I'm looking for. Now I got a picture I can take to the petshop.
We doing ok with sit and down. Just struggling with stay. And she pulls on the leash. When she does I stand dead still and recall her to my side. She hates it when I stop while we walking.

Re: we need a new collar
You are welcome Nicky, I hope you can find one there somewhere.
Do you have a long training lead to practise her recall on.

Re: we need a new collar
Unfortunately no long rein so I connect three nylon leashes together at this point in time. The field next door is fenced so she can't get out. Us being in a farming community means most of our walks are on the leash.

Re: we need a new collar
Got the new collar today. We haven't had a change to walk with it due to the heat. She does look pretty in it and it didn't cost as much much as I iriginally thouhght.

Re: we need a new collar
We went on a short walk this morning as OH said it was the coolest today was going to be . Met up with some cows and Tip decided to "defend" me from them . New collar does help with the pulling.
Right now Tip is stretched out on the tiles staying cool. Perhaps I should join her.
