Hi all,

We are about to commence operation RAW diet and have been shopping today in preparation.

Working on the rule of 80:10:10 ratio below is our proposed diet, please feel free to give advice to helps us.

Thor adult weight will be around 16kg, feeding him 3% of BW = 480g per day
Rogue adult weight will be around 20kg, feeding her 3% of BW = 600g per day.

Thor - 192g frying steak/stewing steak or Heart or Chicken
24g chicken wing including bone
24g mix of ox liver and kidney

Rogue - same meats as above but ratio of 240g:30g:30g

can people who feed RAW let me know if this seems ok??

many thanks  Big Grin

Hey Smile , you need to start off with something like

week 1 chicken only
week 2 add tripe
week 3 add turkey
week 4 add lamb
week 5 add fish
week 6 add pork
week 7 add beef
week 8 add offal

Then after you can mix and match to make sure doggie gets abit of everything

It depends what type of food your ordering,if you get him chicken chunks for example then no if you get him chicken mince then there would be bone in it.

When you say you have been shopping, where you getting your meat

Hi there, yes you should start with chicken, feed some just breast meat and a small amount of bone to start with. Then assuming their poo's are OK add something new each week. That way you can see if they have any intolerance's to anything. Liver is quite important and should make up half of their offal (once you're up and running) I added liver in week 4, just very small pieces to begin with.

Regarding amounts I think Daisy is about 16/17kg, a typical meal is a quarter pack of mince (muscle meat only) which is about 110g and then something on the bone, so a chicken or duck wing, and she had 2 meals a day.
