Sore Tail
Roxi has been licking and nibbling the base of her tail quite a lot recently and just now ive noticed a small light brown mark there , i think this is just where she has been nibbling , i cant see anything which might be causing this , any ideas what it might be and how i can stop her irritating the area more ? Thanks

Re: Sore Tail
Could be due to parasites, which often prefer areas such as the tail base due to the warmth there. Looking through her fur, can you notice any fleas? If not, it could possibly be mange.
If in doubt, you could phone your vet and ask for his/her opinion

Re: Sore Tail
My first suspicion would be a flea/fleas. Towards the base of the tail is their favourite site to establish camp. Have a good look around that area for the blighters, including "flea dirts" - you will then know how to progress.

Re: Sore Tail
Hmm. The sores look to be the result of Roxi's chewing at the areas. If Sudocreme isn't helping much, then perhaps Germolene would help ,soothe and heal the areas. If she suddenly rounds upon her tail end and chomps at the site, I would still suspect an irritant bite of some sort, in which case an application of Anthisan would help a great deal.
Failing all these measures, a visit to the vet on Monday may be called for. Do let us know how she gets on s to Roxi

Re: Sore Tail
Germolene is fantastic stuff! I called it "magic cream" when my kids were little - and still do!
Good to hear that Roxi is so much better!
