Rescue Pup arrived today
Hi
Got a rescue pup today, found in a box 2 weeks ago and now 10 weeks old.
Told he is a staffy cross,no idea what with and hes quite small to see what it could be with!
No problems really apart from hes snapped at a couple of us a few times now.
Have just said NO,put him down and ignored him but he seems to be quite vocal.
I know its early days obviously but im just a little worried that I wont be on top of it quick enough and that im doing it all right.
Advice would be great!!
Thanks x

Re: Rescue Pup arrived today
Awww, he looks like a sweetie (same colour as my young girl)
I had a LOT of nipping/biting when Roxy was really young and YES it can be very frustrating. Perseverence....and finding what works for you is the key. It will improve.
As for the growling, my Roxy used to growl occasionally when very young, usually when she was removed from being somewhere or doing something that we did not approve of. In our situation, it soon stopped.
Roxy is still vocal, by way of barking (usually at the cats, the broom, mop etc.... or to gain somebodys attention )
Being a rescue dog you don't know exactly how they were treated before-hand so maybe he is just reacting thinking something bad is about to happen???????? He is still very young........try to remain calm at all times and just give him lots of love.
I am no expert, this is just my opinion.
Congratulations on your new Pup.......and good luck
