Why must it be blue with no brindle?

The only way you're likely to get that in the near future is to go for a pup from two blue parents, and that's a recipe for health disaster.

If you must have a blue, then contact as many good breeders as you can and ask to be put on their list for when a blue happens to crop up in one of their litters - could take many, many months.

Maybe they don't care.

I know you're looking for a puppy, but if you haven't considered adopting, perhaps you might want to? Millions of dogs are killed every year because people want puppies. Rescue dogs are amazing! I have one and he is the best! Puppies are a lot of work and they need to be trained. Many rescue dogs are already there. Actually, as of now there are over 1400 dogs that need to be rescued or they will likely be euthanized. Please take this into consideration, please. Rescuing one dog actually saves the lives of two - the one you take home and another who is either running out of time or one on the streets.

please read all the good advise that's been given,so many byb have blue pups for sale but no health checks were done and pups end up with health issues because of this   

A mate of mine has just put down a deposit on a Blue pup. I gave him some advice about the CDA as both parents are Blue although one dark and one a light coloured Silver blue but he ignored my advice anyway.

I suppose once he had seen the pup the temptation was too much?

 while people keep paying the problem will only get worse...

Probably a dum question but what is it that is so special about the blue colour, is it not just another coat colour ?

becasue it change to blue when the sun shine on it

i do love the colour but it's hard to find a good breeder who does it the right way

reading that article it sound like a condition one of our cats had he was a blue colour, it was awful condition and even though we did what we could in the end he had to be put to sleep, so sad,

if you make sure that COI is 7.4 & under then you wont get that many problems as for having no brindle it doesnt always works as my girls is black/brindle on paperwork but when i picked her she was black her parents are black/brindle/white and blue white all staffs who are black are registered as black/brindle you may not see it but it will be there if part the fur or notice lighter strands of fur among the black.

I have recently been to see some pups and was shown mother and father, dad is KC reg blue staff with a white chest and mum is a tan and white colour but all of the pups are either black and white or like a brindle black and tan do you think that the parents are different dogs or would this be common? i find it hard to believe that none of the pups are all blue or all tan or even a mix also one other thing was the pups didnt come with papers and the seller was willing to drop the asking price but adamant about the deposit being paid in full which was £250 which sent alarm bells in my head as a possible scam? has anyone heard of anything like this?

blue is a recessive gene and so both parents must have the blue gene for there to be blue pups. so, if the mother doesn't have blue in her genes, the pups may carry the blue gene but won't actually be blue.

don't forget that both parents may have brindle in their genes & that has come through in the pups.
