Draughty windows Empty Draughty windows

Post by Nathan Sun Dec 01 2013, 17:41

my draughty windows are no more! and the house is now like a furnace Cool  got fed up with the constant gale force winds on the back of my neck so went out and got some storm guard window film today.
I must admit it was easy to fit even for a ham fisted short temperd git like me Blushing  I was expecting there to be big crushed up balls of the stuff all over the house but no... not even one rage from me, a world first.

the only down side... both dogs are blowing theyre coats and a couple of bits have some rather annoying dog hair stuck to the inside. I cant get at them now... and they are going to sit there and annoy me until i take it down next year Straight Face

well worth it for just over £8 for six square meters of the stuff with fixing tape. both rooms i have done are really quite a bit warmer.

Why is it that old people are always very conserned about drafts, my Mum is always asking me when I go to visit if I'm in a draft Laughing

Glad you got your windows sorted Nathan, it looks like there could be some snow on the way down by the end of this week cold cold cold

Dogs will love the snow. Now its actually warm in here both have toddled off and are sleeping on the stairs lol.
The house is fairly new but I think they put some cheap * aluminum framed windows in which have about a 7 mm gap in some places. ..
Lil buggers have been blowing coats for a few weeks now getting ready for winter so I cant do anything without dog hair in it.... will post a pic of 2 days worth in a sec. Not sure why its bugging me so much but that hair on the inside is annoying. Cant do anything about it now though..

What's the plastic stuff called, Nathan? I wouldn't mind trying some of that for Eleanor's room - it's quite draughty!

Storm guard you can get from homebase for £8 and its fantastic def recomend it. Just dont worry about wrinkles as they all go when you put hair dryer on it. In fact put it on loose and use the dryer to shrink it

Ignore the first comment. Just clean up and it sticks fine giving an air tight seal
