such a daddy's girl!
Roxy has always been a daddy's girl but has become even more attached lately. This week the OH is on course everyday from 8am-10pm. Very different times for him. So this morning his friend came over early so they could go to the course together - Rox was mad about him! The three of us then took the doggits for a walk. Came back and Rox refused to eat breakfast (not really anyhing unusual, but she was so taken by the OH's friend). They left and she has been standing at the gate since - refusing breakfast. She had just settled when she heard the dogs across the road bark and she is back at the gate. I'm dreading 3pm when she is used to her daddy coming home!
My plan is extra exercise and mental games this week and relaxing music too. And I do have a house full of people tonight for a meeting who will play with her. And she's had some Rescue Remedy. Think I'm doing it right?

Oh bless her! Any change in routine can be upsetting, but especially when it concerns theirs daddy's!! Biscuit has been the same the last few weeks, Martyn's been away Monday-Saturday for 3 weeks she was all over the place the first week going around the house trying to find him (they play hide and seek a lot haha) but had lots of love, extra runs and kongs etc and she settled but has been very clingy with me. He came home on Saturday with an old army friend who's a 6 foot marine and Biscuit who's usually terrified of men snuggled up with BOTH of them on the sofa she was so excited to see him and I didn't get a look in til they left lol! Little flirts aren't they I'd say you're doing it all right, just maybe expect a little shadow appearing and following you around!

Re: such a daddy's girl!
Thanks Rach - I'll be happy with a shadow - she's normally like that with me during the day. Right now she's lying in the shade looking towards the gate. I'm trying not to molly-coddle and just get on with our normal routine which would be me working at my desk and them two sleeping. As it gets to daddy's usual home time we will go for a walkies and do extra activities
Biscuit sounds like a proper daddy's girl too

Awww Roxy, bless her for missing her Daddy, plenty of chew toys to get rid of the frustration and playing games I'm sure she will be fine. Hope your OH will be bale to handle all the love and kisses when she does see him next.

Re: such a daddy's girl!
I think he is going to get overrun with love when he gets home tonight! It is very, very hot for too much activity, so I have been doing short bursts with both of them followed by icy treats. Rox isn't food motivated otherwise I would've given her a bone to keep her busy - but she tends to go on "hunger strike" if daddy's a little late

Ohh Roxy you big love bug! Bless her I'm sure she'll be fine with all the extra company you're having later - and the extra games you've got planned too! I just hope she doesn't explode with excitement when he gets home hehe!
