defensive and growling and going for other dogs
I have recently adopted a rescue dog staffi called lucky she is a great dog very obedient walks well on the lead doesn't jump up or chew things sleeps happily on her own house trained, just perfect but where she came from she was bullied by a bull mastif dog which is why she was given up because they didn't get along and i feel she is on the defensive with any dog now I've been advised to use the watch me and make her sit and give paw lie down etc when other dogs are around but any other tips would be gratefully received she also wears her yellow ribbon to tell others she needs space but this campaign is not known enough with most dog owners xxxx thanks Emma

The Watch Me command is a very useful tool to have in the box. Sadly the Yellow Ribbon Campaign isn't very widely known here in the UK but some people have heard about it. Have you thought about contacting the rescue centre for some advice with this behaviour they may be able to help you.
