Chloe growling at other dogs
Chloe is now a year old. She's always rolled on her back submissively whenever other dogs have run up to her. Now, she (mostly) still rolls over, but with some dogs she barks and growls at them. This is mostly if a dog runs up to her and Lola when they are playing on the beach with a ball. It's like she's saying 'go away from my sister and our ball'. It's all so fast that it's difficult to step in and say anything to her. It's just a quick 'sorry' to the other dog's owner to which they always say 'it's okay, don't worry, our dog was trying to steal her ball'. She doesn't seem to like little dogs however. I wonder why.........

Just answered another post on the same thing. Moo can pick and choose who she wants to play with, and she certainly doesn't share her toys unless she wants to play! If she doesn't and they approach she gives a growl, its just protecting her things Xx

Re: Chloe growling at other dogs
hi, my dogs a year old and janey has just relayed some good advice to me too re my dog. She has just jumped on the back of another dog growling that horrible staffy growl, she wasn't trying to bite him just dominate him. She is always submissive to most dogs too, apart from the ones that are jumpy and bound over. Maybe its a i'll tell you who's boss before you start scenario

Definitely sounds like she is just protecting what is hers. She probably feels that as another dog is running up to her she has to go into protective mode. Rocky is like that at times. But nothing a step in doesn't fix!
