Castration/neutering
Need some serious advice. Harry is now one year old. He is friendly with people and other dogs and has shown no aggression towards anything so far (had him since he was seven weeks old). Now I have heard that when neutered males can develop aggresion and do not know if this is 'an old wives tale' or fact...anybody help? He is NEVER off the lead where there are other dogs running around...mainly because other people look horrified to see a Staffie running free - because of the reputation of the breed - he does have 'fun' time with a couple of 'friends' off the lead a GSD, a Dressed female Staffie and a Dressed King Poodle but never with bitches who are not dressed....

Re: Castration/neutering
I don't see any reason to neuter at all by the lifestyle yo describe? Why change something if it works?

Hi Pat, I have moved your post here as it will get more replies, I hope that's ok. Why don't you go back to here and introduce yourself also.

Re: Castration/neutering
Neutering won't make a dog aggressive, but could make worse an already nervous/fearful dog.
Having said that, it sounds as though you're having no problems with him, so leave him be! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

In general I'm for neuturing but from what you've described you've absolutely no reason to if you don't want to
