Re: castration day
Hope all goes well. I've always had girlies so don't have any personal experience. From what I've heard sometimes it calms them down a bit but not always. There are lots of members here that have males though so someone will be along with some words of wisdom.

Re: castration day
It's very hard to tell if it'll change his temperament. It really depends on whether he is mentally mature or not. Some are at 16 months, some aren't.

Re: castration day
Both mine were neutered young 6 and 7 months and have not shown any ill effects from it either mentally or physically, in actual fact i dont no of any dogs who have had ANY ill effects of neutering (although of course some do) and i work in a rescue centre and have seen hundreds of dogs come and go and had the operation! Dont worry he will be fine!

Ah, poor little guy.
But don't worry, he'll be back safe & sound before you know it!

I got Saxon neutered at 6 months and he has an absolutely wonderful temperament. You don't have to worry about the temperament changing.

Re: castration day
awww look at the little sleepy head..
Jethro was desexed at 6 months and Winston was just desexed 2 weeks ago... it is such a simple operation for boys. Jethro is now a happy and healthy 12 and a half year old.. you did the right thing.
