Weird spot/swelling
Noticed Bruno's chin looked wonky this evening so on closer inspection it looks like he has a spot. However, it's very swollen all around it and looks pretty sore.
I'm wondering if it could have been a scratch from the cat at the I, it doesn't look big enough to have been caused by one of the big dogs teeth. I'm pretty sure it would have swollen up before now though so any ideas what else it could be?
Have attached pictures but it doesn't really do justice to how swollen it is.

Re: Weird spot/swelling
Yeah it looks like a little white head. Could it even be a spider bite or something like that?
I'm going to check it in the morning and if it's not improved or gotten worse I'll pop him to the vet to be sure.

Possibly, it will most likely go down in a day or so, you could try half a piriton, may help if it is a bite

Re: Weird spot/swelling
Looks like a local infection to me.
You could try applying local heat to the spot to bring it to a head, then piercing it with a sterilized needle and express the pus, then dab with TCP, and repeat as often as necessary.
However, I would recommend a vet trip. It might possibly, just possibly, be a tooth root abscess.
Poor Bruno! Do let us know how you get on

Swelling has gone down a little but it's still looking sore. He's booked in at 4pm to see the vet so hopefully we'll get it sorted

Re: Weird spot/swelling
We've been to the vet and all is well.
Bru was a good boy sitting for the nice vet to have a look at his face even though he obviously didn't like it. The vet thinks it's either an insect bite of some sort, or a thorn or some other foreign object that he's picked up somehow on a walk. If it's a thorn it'll swell up again in about 5 days if it hasn't fallen out naturally and we'll take him back in to see about removing it, but the vet thinks it's most likely a bite.
£30 down the drain but I'd much rather be safe than sorry!
Oh and the vet said he was looking lovely and muscly, is the correct weight, his skin is perfectly clear and his teeth are coming through nicely. Obviously I left with a big smile feeling very proud of my handsome boy!

Re: Weird spot/swelling
On the way back from the vets I also discovered that Bruno is heavy enough to set of the sensors in the passenger seat of my car, which in turn sets off the alarm telling me he hasn't got his seat belt on!
I had a heart attack!!
Back seat from now on!

Re: Weird spot/swelling
I guess that is a relief though knowing it's nothing serious. Rear seat driver in future then Bruno
