Tips for settling my doggy into a new home??
Hello
Moving house in a couple weeks, wondered if there are any tips on helping the pooch to settle into our new home? Or if anyone else has done this and had any problems I might need a heads up on?
Thanks in advance xx

Re: Tips for settling my doggy into a new home??
I have never moved whilst having a dog so not much help I am afraid.
You may find as long as he has all his comfort things he will settle in just fine.

Sorry I can't help either I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can, but you and home comforts should help him settle

Hiya,
Yeah hoping that will be the case! Figured he could have a good old sniff about everywhere and see how he goes. Thought it was worth posting a....post??.....anyway just to see
hoping he doesn't get all stressy and noisy and make our new neighbours hate us straight away!
Xx

If Jakey is microchipped then remember to update your new address.
Good luck with the move.

Re: Tips for settling my doggy into a new home??
We moved back to Poland last spring and I was scared thst Debo wont settle. We stayed with my dad for a month and we had the chance to take Debo to the new house everytime we went there to make it ready to live in. So he could have a good sniff-look around. When we finally moved there we arranged living room simillar way like in the old house with his cage in there. The good thing is to not clean his bed before you move so he can have something that's smell familiar. It would be good to move at the weekend so he can have few days with you in the house. Good luch with the move.

We packed his bed and all his smell staff in to plastic bag and the smell when we opened it after 20hrs of driving... Priceless.

We have not gone through a move yet but are still hoping too. Try to keep things to your normal routine as much as you can I know times will probably differ anyway but in the same order should help to settle your dog quicker, good luck.

Re: Tips for settling my doggy into a new home??
Just a quick message to say the move went well, thanks all
And that jake settled in no problems at all really! Don't need the crate in our new home, he is happier and more relaxed now on the whole. Think moving was the best thing I could have done for him, smiles all round xx
