Talking about boarding Kennels
We all have our views on boarding kennels. I have nothing against them, some of them are great, however I just couldnt put Pixee in one as she does suffer from terrible seperation anxiety. I did search online to see if there way anyway I could, I came across this one, http://valefarmhouse.com/. Its my sons 21st in Dec, and next week him and dad are going to spain to watch the Motor GP, that is part of his present from us. I was suppose to go. I am not a fan of Moto GP and I know I would be bored, plus the thought of leaving Pixee with strangers for 5 nights was just too much for me. We all had a good talk, and son agrees that it would kill Pixee to be away from us. Other wise I would have tried that board kennel, ever for one night first to see how she copes, but not 5 nights. The most she has spend time away from me was 2 nights, but only because she stayed at home with son and his girlfriend and she was fine, but did pine for me. We are a very understanding loving family, and we are lucky to have Pixee and just no way can we do this to her. Have a look at the site and see what you think please cos its different to normal boarding kennels.

That place is not like the image I have of usual boarding kennels, the prices are quite reasonable too.

Re: Talking about boarding Kennels
You would probably be better off using a company like Barking Mad, who we use for Densil. Densil can't stay in kennels and with this company he stays in a home with a normal family. They will match your dog to the right family and he will have an overnight stay first just to see how it goes.

Re: Talking about boarding Kennels
The prices there are extortionate!!!!! ive worked in kennels since 15 and no matter how many times they tell you that each dog is looked after 24hrs a day its all lies, they get their run in the morning for 5mins to clean the kennel, then a walk in the afternoon usually around a small grass part, then back to the kennel for the rest. I couldn't part with that sort of money for that!

If you do put your dog in kennels don't forget to ask if they need to have the kennel cough vaccine first. For prices of this ask your vet.
