Sink or swim
Just back from a walk along the canal with Ledger. Love it down there as its never busy and I can let him off lead for a good run well curiosity must of got the better of him today, he was snuffling around on the bank and fell in! Well apart from being in a harness in a hydro pool (he freaked without it) he has never done more than paddle in water.
The complete look of panic on his face as his legs frantically tread water and being a canal there was no gradual bank for him to pull himself out. Mom to the rescue on my knees in the wet grass managed to get hold of his collar and lift him enough to get his front paws on the bank, and he managed to scramble out and over me
Cue one soggy shaky staffy who stuck to the hedgerow for the walk back to the car and has been snuggled in close to me since we got home.

Awww bless him, Daisy's feel in to water a few times but she's always on the flex lead or long line so I can easily pull her out, she hates water!!
