We don't throw that much away here, we try to use everything up or freeze what we can.

If it's still edible, it'll get eaten! I can't afford to buy food just to tip into the bin!

I do detest wasting food, so also freeze what I can.
Since having the food waste bins I realised just how much I do chuck away!Surprised

We don't throw food away, if it's off and appropriate the boys eat it, if it's cheese that's got a little moldy i just cut it off, but if something isn't going to get eaten it goes in the freezer

i buy food daily cause if i dont feel like it it will get thrown out, but most of my food is edible by the chickens or cats so thrown out in my house is really thrown to the animals

Planning meals ahead is definitely a good idea, together with making a shopping list around that plan and sticking to it (no shopping on an empty tummy and thinking ooh I might fancy that some time).

Also not chucking food out the moment it comes up to the "sell-by" date. This is a device invented by Elf'n'Safety. If the food looks or smells off you'll know it - just like we did in the olden days, commonsense.

It can work Hayley! If you know in the morning that tonight is Spag Bol (for an example), don't you look forward to it? You can always swap around the days if you really can't face Spag Bol that night, for some reason.

Exactly. Too many people waste perfectly good food by chucking it out on BBF date, like it would go suddenly poisonous or something.
