My first Dobie always had gunky eyes which I had to clean away 2 or 3 times a day. I think it was the shape of her eyelids so the natural secretions didn't clear away normally. The gunk was clear in colour so there was no infection.

Kuchar has had a gunky right eye this past week when he has been suffering from a sort of "cold". the gunk is green so it is obviously infected.

So long as the "sleepy dust" is clear then I'd say there's no need to worry, it's just accumulation of normal eye secretions due to a loose eyelid, and can be gently wiped away with a moist tissue.
