Barking...! Empty Barking...!

Post by cesca1 Wed Oct 16 2013, 22:23

My two very rarely bark. But....

They now seem to be pre-empting our alarm clock! Alarm set for 7am most days and they have started barking a few times just before the alarm. Then this morning I set the alarm at half 6, what do you know I needn't have bothered 6.24am a few lovely barks!

Just wondered if anybody has any advice on how we can stop this without giving them any positive/negative attention. I wait until they've stopped before we go into the kitchen (where they sleep).

Thank you!

Could it be something they hear outside? My mums dogs bark early morning if they hear something but go quiet again, if they don't go quiet and carry on she knows they want to go out and goes downstairs.

I don't have a clue what it is!

It's really odd and now becoming a regular thing they are doing. 5 mins or so before the alarm goes off. I could sort of understand if the alarm was the same time every day.

I just need to know what to do to stop them barking without giving the wrong sort of attention. I don't particularly want them barking lots.

Sneaky little people aren't they, we use the "Quiet" command with Rocky if he barks when we don't want him to, this may work for you ??

Sorry I have had no experience in this as Vin rarely barks apart from if there are strange noises outside.
Perhaps Saz is right they hear something outside on a regular basis, milkman maybe Big Grin
